Exploring Visualisation and Imagery in Dance with the Franklin Method
Born from the dance and performing arts world, the internationally renowned Franklin Method is a system of learning how the human body is designed to function, and how to embody that function using dynamic imagery. This workshop will give all participants a personal experience of how thoughts, words and images impact movement, and how to use this knowledge to improve dance performance in an instant. Our attention will then be directed towards the pelvis and hips, where the bone rhythm of pelvic movement will be practiced using anatomically correct imagery. Dance educators will leave with a refreshed understanding of how to guide there students to achieve longevity in their dance careers with increased hip joint strength, endurance and flexibility.
The International Dance Educators Workshop (IDEW) is an invaluable opportunity for teachers and practitioners to network, exchange ideas and learn new approaches in a practical, informal and engaging environment. The workshop is designed to cater to all Dance Teachers and Dance Educators as part of their professional development to teach dance or use dance to teach other subjects.
