Functional Feet with the Franklin Method®
Ever wondered how your feet are designed to function?
Or how to train your feet to be strong and adaptive?
This workshop will answer these questions and more!
Expect to walk out with supple, adaptive, supportive, elastic, happy feet!
If you think about your feet, what springs to mind? The chances are that the only time they’ve come up in conversation it’s to talk about what they are doing wrong. In this 2-hour Franklin Method workshop, you will experience what your feet are doing right! If you’re a newbie to Franklin Method this is a great place to start. Franklin Method uses the most up to date, evidence-based science, to teach you how to make lasting changes in both body, and mind, using movement and imagery.
Often what’s missing from any exercise and movement practice, is the mind.
What do you think about when you’re training your body? Does it matter? Science and experience say YES! To improve any movement, an accurate understanding of what you are doing is needed. This can feel a little overwhelming when it comes to human anatomy, and that’s where imagery (thoughts) and proprioception (sensing/feeling) comes to the rescue.
Bea will teach you how to use imagery and proprioceptive touch to gain a clear personal understanding of how to retrain your feet.
She will then lead you through a foot strengthening workout using Franklin Method Balls and Bands (these are yours to keep). This workout is designed to retrain your feet to transition easily from pronation (foundation mode) to supination (propulsion mode).
Many of us have been lead to believe that ‘pronation’ is a dirty word.
In this workshop, we will address this misunderstanding of human biomechanics through layering in a basic understanding of how the feet, knee’s and pelvis work together to give the legs absorption and spring.
